Anays Blanco
Executive Leadership Assistant
Born in the Sonoran Desert and raised where the desert meets the mountains, Anays Blanco grew up surrounded by the landscapes that shaped her love for nature and inspired her life’s work. Deeply rooted in the Sky Islands region, she has dedicated her journey to understanding, protecting, and sharing the beauty of the lands that bridge northern Mexico and the U.S. borderlands.
Her vocation for conservation began during her university years, when she joined field expeditions and volunteered with environmental organizations across northern Mexico. Over the past ten years, she has served as a project lead, volunteer, intern, and active collaborator in conservation initiatives, combining knowledge of administrative, fiscal, and governmental processes for natural resource management with hands-on field experience in biological monitoring, data analysis, geographic information systems, and community development.
Today, Anays supports organizational coordination, project development, monitoring, communication, and fundraising efforts at Cuenca Los Ojos, helping to strengthen collaboration, transparency, and the visibility of restoration work across the Sky Islands region. She believes that restoring nature is also a way to restore our collective sense of belonging and responsibility toward the planet.
