Alejandro Lucero
Communications Coordinator
Alex is originally from Agua Prieta, Sonora, a border town neighboring the United States. Growing up in a bicultural environment, he has been immersed in the landscapes, cultures, and ecosystems of the Sonora–Arizona border region since childhood. Living in Agua Prieta has also given him the opportunity to hear the stories of people who have migrated in search of safety, better opportunities, or simply the peace and tranquility they find in this place. These experiences shaped his understanding of how special the border is—not only for its natural richness but also for its humanity.
For Alex, the border is an extraordinary place, full of culture, creativity, and talent. Above all, he values the resilience and spirit of the people who confront and overcome the stigmas often associated with border life.
With a background in graphic design, Alex has developed strong skills in photography and video production. He especially enjoys creating short documentary films that capture the essence of Agua Prieta, its culture, sports, landscapes, and personal stories.
His goal is to continue growing as a professional and to produce documentaries that make a positive impact on the lives of people in the region, while showcasing the unique beauty of the borderlands.
He firmly believes that documentaries are a powerful tool when they connect deeply with people’s realities and emotions.
